Špela Štrucl
It all started out of plain boredom.
As I was driving from my home town to the capital of Slovenia, where I was studying, I took out my tablet and drew a circle. I figured I could draw a face, but I wasn't really feeling it. The next thing I knew I had a sick ass design in my hands.
I posted it and messages came flooding in. ''Could you make me a sticker for my board?'' ''Are you going to have a clothing brand, because I would totally buy this?''
And so it came to be.
THE WASHED OUT CLOTHING BRAND.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
I was trying to figure out what I should name it and then all out of nowhere it just came to me. I grew up in a place where a lot of kids around me used to either get high, drink, do some kind of illegal shit or had enough of people telling them how to act. Those were people coming from bad situations, unfitted homes or poor states of mind. They were the ones who didn't or at least felt like they didn't fit into the society they were living in. We used to call them ''the washed out'' or in my language ''opran''. I used to feel like that so I figured the best name would be just that, because it embodies what this brand is all about. It's about being messed up, being different, it tells a story about these people, what made them the way they are and about embracing ourselves, because no matter what label you have or where you come from, you need to learn to feel good in your own skin and know that you can make it.
